This new year Samsung is going to launch its much awaited Galaxy S24 smartphone Series. The S24 series includes following three smartphones:
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24 Plus (See above image. Source: @UniverseIce)
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S24+ is going to be the mid child of Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. This time Samsung may include some more features from S24 Ultra in S24 Plus in order to make it more attractive. The tech community has already been speculating about its specs and features, and has been abuzz with daily leaks and rumors regarding the same. Though we don't have any official news from Samsung but based on trusted sources, leakers and information obtained from different certification websites, we have compiled enough details that gives us an idea about what this smartphone is going to pack inside. So let's dive into the leaked details that provide a sneak peek into what could be the next flagship smartphone from Samsung.
Performance:
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ will be powered by the "Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy" chipset, the flagship chip of this year from Qualcomm. GPU used is Adreno 750. Along with this the phone will come with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 Storage, ensuring fast and smooth experience. Please note that some sources state that Only S24 will have Exynos 2400 chipset in some regions and some sources state that S24 as well as S24 Plus will have Exynos 2400 chipset in some regions. Our fingers are crossed. Let's hope S24 Plus comes with "Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy" in every region.
Display:
The display of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus is going to be 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display. It will come with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 2600 nits of peak Brightness. The display protection is not clear yet but based on previous years pattern, S24+ will have same protection as S24 Ultra that is Gorilla glass Victus 2.
Camera:
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus packs a triple camera setup in the back, featuring a 50MP primary sensor which comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 12MP Ultrawide lens, a 10MP Telephoto lens with 3x Optical Zoom & OIS. The front camera will be of 12MP.
Battery and Charging:
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus will be equipped with a 4,900mAh battery and 45 watts of wired charging support.
Software:
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus will come with OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14, out of the box. Based of Samsung' last year promise, it is safe to say that the device will get 4 years of software update and 5 years of security update until unless Samsung states otherwise at launch.
Color options:
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ is going to come in following four colors:
- Onyx Black
- Marble Grey
- Cobalt Violet
- Amber Yellow
Additional Features:
Completing the package are features like the Armor Aluminum 2.0 Frame, IP68 rating and Ultrasonic In-display fingerprint scanner.
Price:
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ will be pricier than its predecessors and expected to be priced around ₹1,00,000.
Launch date:
The leaks indicate that Samsung is likely to unveil the Galaxy S24 Series late on January 17th, according to Indian Standard Time (IST). However, in different time zones, the launch date may fall on January 18th.
